1 Corinthians 10:13 is one of my favorite verses (of course, I have several) and I love Paul's writing. The way you've laid it out is really handy and I think I'll have to give it a shot. I may try 1 Corinthians next since I just finished up a study. :) This'll help tremendously.

Linda- thank you for your courage and sharing your story. That feeling that God isn't listening is a dark lonely time. My battles aren't as long, and the pits aren't as deep as they have been in times past, but they still materialize from time to time. I appreciate your grace and your prayers.

Paula-I too have had a battle with the enemy called depression. My worst days were in 1996 where I was in such a pit of despair, I never thought I would be able to get out. As you experienced, I had the prayer of many, amazing friends, and a sweet husband who tried to understand and give me a lot of grace. God never left me, but I could not sense him. I eventually, with the help of meds. was able to get to a place where I could see and sense God's presence.
Thank you for sharing your struggle because there are so many people who can relate. We can also pray for you!
May God bless your vulnerability to be a blessing to others!

Hi Paula, I know where you are coming from. I also suffer from depression, a few years ago I found out I also found out I am bi-polar, a hard one to deal with but the depression is always there. In 2003 I went on stress leave thinking I would be off only a few months and now here is 2012 and I still have not returned. I struggled and I know it is not easy. If you look at my facebook page you will see pics of my dog Charlie, he is a service dog, along with him and God they are better than any of the medications and like you I know it creaps up on you before you even know it. Praying God will be with you during this time as you battle it. God is watching over you. Thanks for sharing. Perhaps it helps knowing there are others who suffer like you with it.
God bless you!
