Writing Update

Happy 2010! Let me catch you up with what's been happening in my writing life. I submitted a piece at the very end of December to compilation Bethany House plans to release mid-2010. I'm not sure when I'll hear something, but I'll let you know.

Contingency went through yet another round of revisions before I shipped it off for an in-depth critique. The revisions included a series of flashbacks that allowed me to develop Chuck's character, which will make fora much stronger book, but some of my favorite Rita and Phil scenes got cut.

In the meantime, the draft of the 7th story is nearly complete. Claire has been a great character, and the ending went a different direction than I originally mapped out. Ah, the creative process.

Read the new, improved opening chapter of Contingency.

Authenticity Challenge

I'm in the middle of a series of blog posts on what faith is really like, ups and downs. If you missed any of the posts, the links are there on the left.

You might also want to check out Worthless Opinions. It is my most viewed post to date.

If you're a regular reader, thank you!! It is so humbling to know that folks read what I write.

Four Goals, No Resolutions

I made four specific goals for 2010 and so far, I'm on track.  #1 I wanted to lose 15 pounds- I've lost 7.  #2 I wanted to run 2 miles- It's been WAY too cold to work on that one. Unlike my husband, I don't run when it's 20! #3  I wanted to get off one of my prescription medications- the doctor gave me the go ahead. We'll see how things go. I'm optimistic. And #4- Sell my book.
