I hear Thy welcome voice
That calls me, Lord, to Thee,
For cleansing in Thy precious blood
That flowed on Calvary.
Tho’ coming weak and vile,
Thou dost my strength assure;
Thou dost my vileness fully cleanse,
Till spotless all, and pure.
‘Tis Jesus calls me on
To perfect faith and love,
To perfect hope and peace and trust,
For earth and heav’n above.
All hail! atoning blood!
All hail! redeeming grace!
All hail! the gift of Christ our Lord,
Our strength and righteousness.
I am coming, Lord!
Coming now to Thee!
Wash me, cleanse me in the blood
That flowed on Calvary!

Read Jonah 2:1-9
(Sometimes the hymns that are in the “invitation” section of the hymnal are easy to pass over. We’ve believed in Jesus for salvation, so we don’t need them anymore, right. No, but yes. We don’t need salvation again. But this hymn calls us to repentance, to a recognition that we need cleansing. Daily. Even believers. So the only question then, is will we be humble enough to ask for that cleansing? He is calling. Hear His welcome voice. How will we answer?)
The blood of Jesus has great power. Are You Washed in the Blood?
