Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by me from before your birth, carried from the womb; even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. Isaiah 46:3-4
Think of all the milestones in that first year.
Birth. The first smile.
Rolling over. Sitting up. Wobbly steps.
Then they come faster.
Words. Running.
Riding bikes. Spelling words.
Graduations. Drivers licenses.
Jobs. Weddings. Vacations.
Homes. Children. Grandchildren.
Finally comes,
Slowing. Aging. Declining.
And ultimately the end.
Through it all one thing remains constant.
The LORD says, “I will carry you.”
From the moment of conception.
To consummation.
“Even to your old age, I am He.
I have made you.
I will carry you.
I will save you.”
