“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24 p.m. today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
This was the official announcement posted outside Buckingham Palace on July 22, 2013.
After months of anticipation, the announcement could be made at last.
The royal line of the house of Windsor would continue another generation. Then the celebrations fitting the birth of a future king began.
For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
This was the official announcement in Luke 2:11.
After years, hundreds of years of waiting, the announcement finally came.
Only the angel wasn’t just announcing the birth of a baby, or even a future king.
He proclaimed the birth of a Savior.
A Savior.
Christ the Lord.
We can be saved because a Savior was born.
Good news of indescribable joy for everyone.
Let the celebrations begin!
(I’ll be taking a couple of weeks off to enjoy being with my husband and kids for Christmas break. I’ll meet you back here January 5. Have a blessed and joy-filled Christmas season.)
