I love the story in Mark 2 about the paralyzed man carried into the presence of Jesus by his friends.
The man's situation was hopeless. Medical knowledge was limited and nothing could be done for paralysis. But even this early in Jesus' ministry, He was known as a healer, a worker of miracles, a restorer of life and purpose and hope.
The friends were dauntless. By the time they heard Jesus was there, gathered the guys and their paralyzed friend, the house was crammed full. Crammed. And in between the lines of Scripture, I can feel the paralyzed man deflate. It's okay. Thanks for trying guys.
But then one of the guys says…
No way. We didn't come this far to turn back. I've got an idea.
Then there's this verse. "So when they had broken through…"
Don't give up before the breakthrough.
Carry your friends. Have your friends carry you, but don't quit before the breakthrough.
